Sign up underway for ‘Y’ tackle football

Registration is currently underway for the Shelby YMCA fifth and sixth grade tackle football program.

The sign up will continue through Monday, July 5.

The registration fee is $100 for YMCA members and $125 for non-members. Registrations will be accepted after July 5 and require a late fee of an additional $25.

The program will begin July 12 and continue into October. Practices will be held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Shelby High School practice field. Games will be played Sunday afternoons.

A parent meeting has been planned for 5:30 p.m. on July 9.

Equipment will be handed out on July 17, starting at 1 p.m. for sixth graders and 3 p.m. for fifth graders.
