The National Days for this week are Sept. 28 – National Strawberry Cream Pie Day, Sept. 29 – Coffee Day, Sept. 30 – Hot Mulled Cider Day, Oct. 1 – Homemade Cookie Day, Oct. 2 – Fried Scallops Day, and Oct. 4 is National Cinnamon Bun Day and National Taco Day. Strawberry Cream Pie

Ingredients:

Crust

1 graham cracker crust store bought (larger extra serving size) or homemade

Filling

2/3 cup Boiling Water

1 pkg (4 oz. serving Strawberry Gelatin

1/2 cup Cold Water + enough ice cubes to make 1 cup

1 tub (8 oz) Whipped Topping, thawed

1 cup Strawberries, chopped Strawberries for decoration, if desired

Directions:

Stir boiling water into gelatin mix in large bowl, stir at least 2 minutes until gelatin is dissolved. Add ice cubes to cold water to make 1 cup, stir into gelatin mixture.

Stir until thickened, remove any unmelted ice cubes

Add whipped topping with a whisk until well blended.

Stir in chopped strawberries. Refrigerate 20 to 30 minutes. Spoon filling into crust, chill for 6 hours or overnight.

Decorate as desired.

Nutella hot coffee

Cook Time: 5 mins Total Time: 5 mins

Makes: 2 drinks

Ingredients:

3 cups brewed coffee

1 cup half and half, milk, or cream 1/2 cup sugar or sweetener

1/4 cup Nutella whipped cream and chocolate sauce for topping

Directions:

Pour brewed coffee, half and half, sugar, and Nutella into a small sauce pan over medium low heat. Stir until Nutella melts and all ingredients are combined. Cook until hot, about 5 minutes with room temperature coffee. Top with whipped cream and chocolate sauce.

Slow-cooker Mulled Cider Makes 1 gallon; 16 (8-ounce) drinks

Ingredients:

1-gallon fresh apple cider or unfiltered apple juice

1 medium orange

1 (1 1/2-inch) piece fresh ginger 5 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks 1 tablespoon whole cloves Orange slices, for serving (optional)

Equipment:

5-quart or larger slow cooker Knife

Cheesecloth or paper coffee filter and kitchen twine, or a tea ball (optional)

Directions:

Pour the cider or juice into a 5-quart or larger slow cooker.

Cut the orange into 1/4-inchthick rounds. Cut the ginger into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Add both to the slow cooker.

Add the cinnamon sticks. Add the cloves and optional spices. To make it easier to serve, place the cloves and spices in a tea ball first, or place in a double layer of cheesecloth or paper coffee filter, gather it up into a sachet, and tie closed with kitchen twine.

Cover the slow cooker and cook until the flavors meld, 4 hours on LOW. (If there are clumps of spices floating at the top that you wish to remove, strain the cider through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large pot.)

There are events planned each day and a party on the final day of the pop up. This is like any park, no event is needed to visit, walk, bike

and enjoy the delightfulness of it all!

March of 2020. Of that cumulative number, 1137 individuals have attained recovered/ resolved status. There have been 39 COVID19 deaths (total) documented from within the jurisdiction (12 from general population and 27 from long term care facility).

The Department is currently monitoring a total of 61 active cases (general population) with two individuals hospitalized. There has been zero COVID-19 death documented within this four day period.
