SHELBY Daily Globe Pictures with Santa at Richland County Dog Shelter

RICHLAND COUNTY- Every first Tuesday of the month, the Richland County Dog Shelter holds an after hours adoption event. However, for the month of December Santa will be joining in the fun.

On Tuesday, December 7 from 4:30-7:30 p.m., Santa will be stopping by the shelter to visit all of the dogs. In addition, those who own dogs are also encouraged to stop by the shelter to get their picture taken with Santa.

There will be a fee for those who want their furry friends to get a picture with Santa. There are a couple different ways to get a picture with Santa. Those who own dogs can just have their dog be in the picture or they can be in the picture with their dog and Santa.

The shelter will have gifts to those who stop out and brings their dog for a picture with Santa or to those who want to stop by and look at the dogs that are currently available for adoption.

There will be hot cider available at the event along with snacks. There will be handmade headbands for sale, leashes, collars and dog toys.

The shelter is asking for residents help in making this a special day for all the dogs.

In addition, stockings will also be hung up on each one of the dog’s kennels that will have a cheeseburger. Those who are visiting will have the opportunity to feed the dog’s their special treat.

Donations are also welcomed during the event.

Those who receive pictures will have the option to have the pictures either emailed or sent via text.
