Ohio Christmas Tree Association ship Christmas trees to troops overseas

The Ohio Christmas Tree Association (OCTA) once again sent Ohio-grown Christmas trees to troops stationed overseas through the service project, Operation Evergreen. The trees were inspected and packed at the Ohio Department of Agriculture in Reynoldsburg on Wednesday.

In addition to the trees, decorations were donated by local schools, churches, and veterans’ groups, ensuring the military units receiving the trees will have all that is needed to celebrate the holidays.

“The Ohio Christmas Tree Association (OCTA) is glad to continue a holiday tradition that helps to bring a part of the Christmas holiday to our military overseas,“said OCTA Executive Director, Valerie Parks Graham. “This event allows so many people to get involved, from making homemade ornaments to writing notes and donating trees to assisting with the packing of the trees. This is just a small way to say thanks to those that are making a sacrifice.“

If anyone is interested in making a monetary or ornament donation, please contact the OCTA Office at 740-828-3331, Gofundme or HYPERLINK “mailto:val@ ohiochristmastree.com” val@ ohiochristmastree.com
